An account is an email address and a password, kept as a one-way hash we cannot reverse. If you turn on two-factor sign-in we store the secret that makes it work. Everything else is the game itself: your gangster, their money, items, messages, Family and record, and the log of what they did.
To stop multiple accounts and abuse we keep a hashed form of the network address a sign-in or registration came from, not the address itself, and the country it came from (as our network provider reports it). If the app reports a crash we keep the browser’s name and version with the report. If you enable notifications we keep the push subscription your browser hands us, and nothing more.
No advertising, no analytics scripts, no trackers, no third-party cookies, and nothing is sold or shared with anyone. There is nothing to buy in the game, so we hold no payment details. Fonts, pictures and code are served from this site only.
A session cookie keeps you logged in, a device cookie remembers a browser you have signed in from before, a short-lived cookie carries a two-factor challenge while you complete it, and an invite cookie remembers for thirty days which gangster invited you so they get their reward. That is all of them, and none is read by anyone but this site.
Your gangster’s name, rank, Family and record are part of a multiplayer game and are visible to other players. Deaths, promotions and takeovers appear on the public wire, obituaries and chronicle, and each gangster has a public page you can switch off in your settings. Your email address and account details are never shown to anyone.
We email you to verify your address, to reset a password, and, only if you ask for them, to tell you about things that happened to your gangster while you were away. Every such email can be turned off in settings.
Ask from your settings page, confirming with your password. A copy of your data is prepared for you to download and kept for 90 days; the account and the gangster are then removed. You can cancel the request while it is open. The public record of what your gangster did in the game stays in the game’s history under the gangster’s name, as it would for any character who died.
Reply to any email the game has sent you, or use the suggestions page inside the game. See also the terms.
