What's new in 1.2.5
  • An update that fails to download now says so, instead of leaving you watching an update that had already stopped.
  • Updates download only the part that changed again — about a megabyte instead of the whole hundred-megabyte installer.
Earlier versions
1.2.6
  • The app remembers that notifications are allowed, instead of asking again every time it opens.
1.2.4
  • The menu is visible instead of hidden behind the Alt key, so Check for Updates and the update log can be found without knowing they are there.
1.2.3
  • Game → Open update log shows every update check the app has made, so "it didn't update" can be answered instead of guessed at.
  • An update's list of changes no longer splits a long line into two, one of them half a sentence.
1.2.2
  • Your unread count sits on the app's icon again: a number on the dock on macOS and Linux, and a mark on the taskbar button on Windows, where the usual badge does not exist.
  • The count is also on the window title, so a glance at the taskbar or a browser tab tells you without opening anything.
1.2.1
  • Update checks keep a record: every check, download and failure is written to update.log in the app's data folder, so "nothing happened" can be told apart from "nothing to update to".
  • Checking by hand when you already have the newest version now says so properly, and reminds you the app checks on its own.
1.2.0
  • The app remembers its window: size, position, whether it was maximized, and how far you zoomed in.
  • A window that was on a screen you no longer have opens on your main screen instead of out of sight.
  • Update prompts now list what changed in the new version.
1.1.0
  • The app updates itself: it checks for new versions, asks first, and installs when you restart.
  • When the city is restarting, the app now shows its own "Back in a moment" screen and takes you back to the page you were on, instead of a browser error page.
  • F5 and Ctrl+R (⌘R on a Mac) always reload.
  • New Game menu: Home, Back, Forward, Check for Updates and Open in browser.
1.0.0
  • First release: OmertaEra in its own window, with its own icon, for Windows, Linux and macOS.
  • Only omertaera.com opens inside the app; other links open in your normal browser.
  • One window: launching the app again brings the open one to the front.
Updates

The app checks for new versions when it starts and every few hours, asks before downloading, and installs when you restart it. Game → Check for Updates… checks right away.

First launch

The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows may show Windows protected your PC. Click More info, then Run anyway.
