Jacks or Better — rules

Video poker on the classic full-pay 9/6 paytable. Set a stake and take five cards from a fresh 52-card deck, hold any of them, and draw once to replace the rest from the same deck. The final five are paid on the table below (per unit staked, at every stake — the royal pays 800 for 1, the max-coin rate); anything less than a pair of jacks loses.

• Straights may run ace-low (A-2-3-4-5) or ace-high (10-J-Q-K-A).
• With perfect holds the machine returns 99.54%; the standard strategy chart comes within about 0.1% of that.
• One open hand at a time. A hand left for 5 minutes draws for you, holding all five cards.
